The Louisiana pub is one of three Bristol music venues to receive emergency relief funding from the Grassroots Music Venue (GMV) Crisis Service – the others being Motion and The Old Bookshop.
A total of 135 grassroots venues facing closure across the UK will receive a share of £3.36 million, part of the Government’s £1.57 billion support package for the arts. The Bristol venues will receive £80,000 each with Arts Council England delivering the funding.
On their Facebook page the Louisiana state: ‘The Louisiana received a GMV emergency relief grant that would guarantee we stay open until September 31st 2020.’
