Maintenance work on Bathurst Bridge, which started on 1st September, is now complete. The main imageĀ shows the repaired footpath along the eastern side of the bridge. Friends of Bathurst Basin reported the poor state of the footpath in August last year, so the repair is most welcome.
The marine plywood had rotted and several significant holes were covered by plastic emergency protection covers. Several kickplates were missing and this presented a safety hazard for bridge users. The work has completely replaced the pathway and kick plates, making the bridge so much safer for users.
