Cabot Cruising Club
The club manages the leisure boat marina in Bathurst Basin. Club members meet on the John Sebastian lightship moored along the Basin’s southern quay. Cabot Cruising Club was founded in 1937. The John Sebastian ‘Light Vessel 55’ was purchased by the club in 1954, and has been the base for club operations whilst moored in Bathurst Basin since her doors reopened in 1959. Well over 100 Years old, LV55 has a long and interesting maritime history enduring two world wars as a guiding light for many maritime ships.
