A successful angler raised a colourful carp from the Basin on 26th June weighing in at around 6lbs. In 2022 Jamie Brown raised a perch and Matt Barnsley raised a bass from the Basin.
Bristol and Avon Rivers Trust in partnership with Bristol City Council carried out a pilot environmental DNA analysis of individual species and communities of fish by sampling the water at 10 sites across Bristol’s Floating Harbour and the River Avon during February, June, and July 2022. One of the sampling points was the entrance to Bathurst Basin. They found evidence of European carp, eel and bass. More details.
