For some time motorists have parked without charge on the wide section of pedestrian paving opposite the Iron Foundry. A notice (image below) has recently been posted in this area by Bristol City Council indicating that this is a designated City Docks parking site which requires a permit to be displayed on the vehicle. It also states that vehicles must be parked entirely within the designated parking area where these exist. As our image above shows, the marked areas are rather confusing as they are too small for most vehicles to be ‘entirely within’. It will be interesting to see how motorists respond.
