Street-sign success

We’ve had a commendably quick response from Joe Downes (from the Council’s Transport Asset Management department) following emails to him about missing street signs on Lower Guinea Street.

He has arranged for two new street name-plates to be installed: one at the Commercial Road end, near the car park. The original street name-plate at this end of Lower Guinea Street was on a building demolished to make room for the Iron Foundry.

The second name-plate will be on the corner of Guinea Street and Lower Guinea Street – indicated in red in the image above.

Joe has confirmed that ‘Lower Guinea Street’ extends all the way along Bathurst Basin to the entrance of the Basin, passed The Ostrich Inn to the Ferry Landing. The Council have updated their digital map accordingly.
