Electricity supplied to most of the newer properties in Bathurst Parade was set up in a series of ‘looped’ services, with households linked in pairs to the mains supply. In preparation for the predicted additional demands of decarbonisation — car chargers and electric heating systems – residents asked Western Power to de-loop supply as the looped service could not support these additional uses of electricity.
The cost of the work is covered by a government subsidy to Western Power, with no cost to residents. De-looping took place on 16th February with only a short break in service to each household.
