A smarter basin

The Harbour estates department has smartened up the toilets and shower block on the John Sebastian quay. Thanks to Clark Wiltshire and the team, the current lighting has been replaced with a motion sensor system, the interior has been steam cleaned and painted and the exterior has been painted.

This follows the spring and summer work by the Ministry of Justice Probation Service South West who arranged for a weekly visit by six unpaid community support members to paint the bollards, winches, and utility cabinets around Bathurst Basin. They will return in the spring next year to continue the work.

Unfortunately it didn’t take long for graffiti to cover the Commercial Road side of the toilet block. An unwelcome feature of city life.
