Bristol City Council are planning to start maintenance work on Bathurst Bridge on 1st September 2020, work which will mean closure of the old bridge to pedestrian and vehicle traffic. During the work, vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be sent over Bathurst New Bridge and a three-way traffic-light system will control vehicle movement.
The work will include waterproofing and resurfacing of the bridge carriageway, replacement of the footway deck plus other works such as drainage clearing. The work will take around a month to complete.
To enable the work to be completed efficiently, the Council have approved a compound area on Bathurst Parade, as shown on the plan below.
