Cabot Cruising Club held an outdoor celebration on Saturday 11th July to mark the relaxation of the most severe lock-down restrictions. ‘Burgees Aloft’ was also a fundraising event and those attending were asked for a donation in addition to providing their own food. Around 75 people attended and the event raised valuable funds for the Club.
The John Sebastian was dressed all over and the Club held a competition for the best dressed boat in the Basin, so a party atmosphere was guaranteed. Mike Pope described it as ‘a magical summer’s evening, with everyone meeting, at a suitable distance, for the first time in months.’
The Club plans to open soon, with perspex screens for bar staff and seating and one-way routes devised to keep everyone safe.
