Local landmarks removed

The last of the two large teepee tents has been removed from the Ostrich. The tent had been vandalised and slashed with a sharp knife and then furniture inside set alight by a homeless person.

It was a unique landmark in Bathurst Basin. The tents were put up in October 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The tents gave the Ostrich customers a sheltered outdoor setting to enjoy their food and drink.  The open space now gives clear views over the basin which the pub clients can enjoy in the coming summer months.
