Marchioness Jetty decision date
On 18th March the City Council’s Development Control Committee B will take a decision on the proposal to build a jetty on the wall of New Cut along Commercial Road.
New Bollards
As part of Lower Guinea Street road and pedestrian infrastructure upgrade, five new bollards have been positioned.
Elderly road sign retires
The road sign warning traffic of elderly pedestrians along Lower Guinea Street has been removed.
New Automatic External Defibrillator
Residents living close to Bathurst Basin now have a fully operational public Automatic External Defibrillator.
New trees on Commercial Road
Two new trees have been planted alongside Commercial Road to replace the old tree stumps. The trees are Old World sycamore.

Reed beds for Bathurst Basin?
In a 2009 biodiversity report commissioned by Bristol City Council, it was suggested that Bathurst Basin would be suitable for floating reed beds and kingfisher perches.
Cumberland Road closure
Cumberland Road is closed in both directions close to the caravan park entrance.

Cumberland Road developments

Latest water quality tests
Monthly surface water quality testing in Bathurst Basin seems now to have been restored. FOBB considers testing water in the Basin to be important given the regular use of the Basin for leisure activities.

Illuminated Boat Parade
Cabot Cruising Club boats will again this year take part in the Christmas Illuminated Boat Parade around the Floating Harbour.
Bristol Harbour survey
‘Glanville Geospatial Services’ and ‘Unmanned Service Solutions – Unmanned Surface Vessels’ are carrying out a ‘LIDAR’’ and ‘Multibeam’ survey of Bristol Harbour using an unmanned vessel called the ’Inception’, loaded with survey and GPS equipment.
